During our visit to Teuchitlán, we had initially planned to explore the known Guachimontones archaeological site. However, upon arrival, we were disappointed to find it closed. We decided to make the most of our day by exploring Teuchitlán and nearby towns like Ahualulco de Mercado and Tequila.
We started our day in Teuchitlán by exploring the Town center. Along the way, we stumbled upon the H. Ayuntamiento Constitucional de Teuchitlán Jalisco, the municipal building. We were pleasantly surprised when a kind lady allowed us to enter and witness the stunning murals adorning the building’s ceiling. It was a unique opportunity to catch a glimpse of the town’s artistic heritage and historical significance.
After our visit to the municipal building, we made our way to the Parroquia de Teuchitlán, also known as Parroquia Señor de la Ascensión. As we walked around the building, we admired the architecture and the tranquil atmosphere it exuded. It was a moment of reflection and appreciation for the religious and cultural heritage that Teuchitlán holds.
Our visit to Teuchitlán was an unexpected adventure that turned out to be a delightful experience. Despite the initial setback at Guachimontones, we discovered the town’s hidden treasures and felt a deep connection to its history and traditions. Teuchitlán, with its welcoming locals, charming center, and stunning landmarks, left a lasting impression on us. It reminded us of the beauty of spontaneity and the joy of exploring lesser-known destinations.
