Here is my Vegan Brownies recipe. I’m on a mission to veganize my favorite desserts, and today I tackled brownies. This recipe is a modification of my non-vegan brownies, but I must say, the vegan version is even tastier and healthier. So go ahead and indulge in these guilt-free treats!

Vegan Brownies recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup or agave nectar
  • 1/4 cup melted coconut oil or vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup almond milk or any plant-based milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup dairy-free chocolate chips (optional)
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients:
    • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
  3. Combine Wet Ingredients:
    • In a separate bowl, mix together the applesauce, maple syrup or agave nectar, melted coconut oil or vegetable oil, almond milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients:
    • Pour the wet ingredients into the bowl with the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  5. Add Chocolate Chips and Walnuts:
    • If desired, fold in the dairy-free chocolate chips and chopped walnuts until evenly distributed throughout the batter.
  6. Bake:
    • Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it out evenly.
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are set and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  7. Cool and Serve:
    • Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for at least 10-15 minutes before slicing into squares.
    • Serve the vegan brownies warm or at room temperature. Enjoy!
