Plan your visit.

Dresden is one of the most beautiful European cities reach and culture and history that has a lot to offer including wide variety of museums and restaurants.  I suggest creating a basic plan for your visit first. When working on a plan, check museum hours of operation. If you limited to just one day, like yours truly, plan to spend couple of hours in the museum of your choice and spend the rest of the day exploring the city. Here is the list of my suggestions and tips for planning a trip to Dresden

Dresden One Day Itinerary

Altmarkt towers

Start your day from visiting one of the six Altmarkt towers, this will give you better understanding of attractions’ location and better feel of directions.

Museum Closures

Majority of museums including Albertinum and Zwinger palace closed Monday. Keep this in mind if Albertinum or Zwinger Porcelain museum are on your “must-see” list.

How many days in Dresden.

The city is fairly small, so my suggestion is to plan spending two-three days there, but one day will do it too.

Don’t let the rain stop you!

Bring rain jacket and umbrella and keep exploring. It was raining almost non-stop the entire day I was in Dresden, but I still had a blast during my trip.

Bring cash.

Majority of small vendors including cafes and restaurants do not accept credit cards. While you can use ATMs, it’s always good to have some cash on hands to save time.
