Ngorongoro Conservation area, just like Lake Manyara, located in Arusha region. It is a large protected territory around Ngorongoro crater. According to our guide, not allowed to hunt in the area. Maasai and other ethnic group can live in the area, however they are cannot build permanent structures and gardens. Maasaii currently living in Ngorongoro area were forced to move there from Serengeti after Serengeti National park was established. Here is a collection of my best Ngorongoro safari pictures.
The only way to visit Ngorongoro Conservation area is to hire a guide or hop on a tour. You can hire a guide by park entrance, I’ve see tourists talking to the guides on the parking lot. I suggest booking a tour from Arusha or Karatu. We spent a day in Ngorongoro park. Ngorongoro Conservation area is very compact and can be done a day trip unlike Serengeti National park.
