Cambria is a charming coastal town located on the Central Coast of California, halfway between San Francisco and Los Angeles. Our experience in Cambria

After spending two days in Paso Robles, we decided to take a detour and visit this charming town on our way back home. We started our walk around town, exploring the various shops and galleries. The boutiques had a wide variety of unique items. The glass work on display was simply breathtaking, and we spent a good amount of time admiring the designs.

As wine lovers, we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to taste some local wine. We made a stop at one of the wineries and then later in the evening, we decided to have an early dinner at Madeline’s, an amazing restaurant that exceeded our expectations. After dinner, we took a leisurely stroll through the town to explore a bit more before heading back home.

Best things to see and do in Cambria

Explore Moonstone Beach

This beach is famous for its smooth, round stones known as moonstones. Take a walk along the boardwalk, relax on the beach, and enjoy the stunning views of the Pacific Ocean.

Visit the historic East and West Villages

Cambria’s downtown area is split into two distinct villages – East and West. Explore the unique shops, restaurants, and art galleries in each village and get a feel for the town’s rich history and small-town charm.

Take a hike in Fiscalini Ranch Preserve

This 437-acre nature reserve offers miles of hiking trails that wind through meadows, forests, and along the coastline. Keep an eye out for wildlife, including deer, rabbits, and a variety of birds.

Tour the Hearst Castle

Located just a short drive from Cambria, the Hearst Castle is a must-see attraction. This grand estate was built by newspaper magnate William Randolph Hearst in the early 1900s and features 165 rooms, lavish gardens, and incredible art and antiques.

Wine tasting in Paso Robles

The Paso Robles wine region is located just a short drive from Cambria and is home to over 200 wineries. Take a day trip to explore the beautiful vineyards and sample some of the region’s world-renowned wines.

Visit Cambria’s art galleries

Cambria is home to a thriving arts community, and the town is filled with galleries showcasing the work of local artists. Take a stroll through the town and check out the unique and beautiful artwork on display.
