The carpets built of colored sand, seeds, flowers, rice and other natural materials by local students, artist, vendors and just city residents. Those are true unique and beautiful pieces of art created on the grounds. The entire city center area was covered by tapetes. This temporary artwork takes hours for many people to create. Some dedicated to deceased students, some to deceased children, and even a detailed copy of Diego Rivera’s “Dream of a Sunday Afternoon in Alameda Central Park”.
